Hey Philly Jugglers

I'm planning on coming to the Jugglefest on Sat Sept 29. If possible I'd like to offer a workshop in ContraJuggling. Would it be possible to get that on the schedule at this late date? The workshop would present both a style and a philosophy of juggling I've been developing with friends and family in Virginia, near Charlottesville. We call our group the Juggling Dojo. We call our form ContraJuggling because it derives both inspiration and specific moves from Contra dance. Contrajuggling is simple in its basic elements yet revolutionary in its potential to draw more people into the juggling life. Here's a Contrajuggling video I recently made with my family:

For more of our philosophical roots, here's  a short article I wrote for the American Youth Circus Org magazine on the vision and practice of the Juggling Dojo:

Let me know about setting up a workshop. Our main need is for a space in which we could play our own music, since the form of Contradance is choreographed to specific musical tempos.

Thanks!

The 30th Annual Philadelphia Jugglers Festival will take place September 29-30, 2012 at Friends Select School. Mark your calendar and tell all your friends to keep that weekend open to attend Philly Fest 2012. More details will be upcoming as we get closer to the date.

Yes, you're certainly welcome to hold your workshop any time you wish at Philly Fest. We don't usually schedule workshops in advance. Instead, when you arrive, you can write on the Workshop Schedule board the name of your workshop, and pick your desired time slot (preferably not overlapping any other workshops). If you want, you can even do it on both Saturday and Sunday. We look forward to seeing you!
