Flex 3/AIR Prerelease Event

Hello Everyone,

In January Adobe is going to be rolling through Philly on their Flex
3/AIR prerelease user group tour. The event details are below. Please
RSVP if you are planning to attend (you can just post a message to
this mailing list, or you can email me directly, whichever you
prefer).

Time: 7:00 PM
Location: TBD

Free stuff: We will raffle off a copy of Flex 3 and a copy of CS3 Web
Premium. You need to RSVP to be included in the raffle.

The event will be about 2.5 - 3 hours.

 

Now that Adobe has made the official announcement, I can say that in addition to Flex and AIR, Dave will also be talking about Blaze DS (the recently released open source version of LiveCycle Data Services).

 

 

And here is a little background on the speaker:

 

Dave Gruber is a Group Product Marketing Manager at Adobe Systems focused on Flex developer adoption. He has a long history in product management and marketing with web technologies, joining Adobe with the recent acquisition of Macromedia.  Dave spent several years driving the successful ColdFusion business at Macromedia and Allaire and has played other key roles in the creation of Flash Remoting and Central. Prior to Allaire, Dave was the Director of Systems Engineering for Bright Tiger Technologies, an award-winning pioneer in guaranteeing Web site up-time and fast response which was acquired by Allaire in 1999.

Flex and Air is the next big software shift since Flash first appeared.
Being able to develop Desktop apps in Flex/Flash is very powerful stuff. I
have always been a big advocate of RIA, with Adobe AIR we all will be able
to leverage the power of Adobe's new platform.
