Lo-Res Peppers
Ambergris
lecture by Maria Danielson
DJ Big Banks

Yo hotsummer, been too HARD to stay on top of everything!  So many
things happening all at once and all i wanna do is go swimming.
Hear me now:

Lo-Res Peppers are Emily Holt & Chris Davis, the sweetest couple in
all of Nashville.  As a band, nothing but mystery surrounds them, and
i can't wait to see what they'll do.  As people, they've regularly
stirring the pot of that city's weirdo scene for many years, promoting
underground events & hostessing with the mostessness.  Chris Davis is
one of the founding members of the joyously freaky Cherry Blossoms, as
well as holding the drumstool-view of the Frothy Shakes phenomenon.
Check these references here, if you haven't already (it's all great
music!):  http://puzzle.suchfun.net

Ambergris is sort of a 'band' burthed from the tweaked mind of
comicbook artist Matthew Thurber.  It's primary function is to enact
narrative musical theater with costume & song, rather than, say, be a
"cool band" that plays "rockin' jams."  Put more succinctly, they
conduct "spelunking tours into fluorescent lagoons of narrative
imagination."  Most recently, in an email to me, Thurber has
threatened to perform their latest rap opera entitled "STOP!..Traffic
Cones!"  Their radio-play collaged cassettes are highly entertaining
manifestations of this "Anti-matter Cabaret," which he has performed
in locations such as the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, Issue Project
Room in New York, and the Fumetto Festival in Lucern, Switzerland.

Dutch translator & John Doe Jr Record Store co-owner Maria Danielson
will be sharing with us findings from her research on the subject of
the Port Royal Experiment.  American history buffs, engage!

This evening's twixt-set DJ will be Big Bad Banks aka Abby Banks,
Battleboro rabblerousing skatepunk, ex-Tinderboxer, leadsinger for Big
Kids, & photographer who's fat coffetable book "Punk House: Interiors
in Anarchy" was in the goddamned new york times!  She's devoting large
sections of her DJ set to "loco's only" - spinning kooky tunes derived
from Burlington to Greenfield.

i think there will some surprises for this show, so surprising that
they can't even be categorized as TBA.  hopefully another set by the
Reproduction Fantasy Club Band, but also something less predictable.
TBA that!
