BIMBO SHRINEHEADS
KIERAN LALLY
DJ, performance, videos, talk, terror by JESSICA CIOCCI
films by JO DERY
lecture by MARY CAROL

The end is nigh! At last, this promoter has decided to hang up any
semblance of commitment and roll off a cliff into a raging sea of
other projects. It's been some three years of spectacular weirdness
and I am extremely grateful to the good folks at the Rendezvous for
being so supportive and encouraging. Even during some of MPBE's most
challenging moments, the Voo folks took the risk and defended good
taste. For this, they get a gold star in my book and they should in
yours as well. Huge thanks to all of the MPBE alumni artists &
lecturers - you do great stuff & that's what compels me to share it.
Also big ups to all of youse who've kept coming back with open eyes &
ears - your enthusiasm makes the schlepping worth it. But really, the
Phantom Brains were really never meant for this nor any world, and
it's time to set them free. Once fully dissipated, other awesome
stuff will invariably blossom & we can be in touch. For now, peep
this lineup, come out next week & celebrate the burial of the Phantom
Brains!

for more adjectives read on:

BIMBO SHRINEHEADS are Connecticut hardcore psych-freaks, resurrected
from the early 90's. Maybe they never died, but searches round the
internet bear little kernels. Back in the day, or at least back in my
day, I always heard about this band doing crazy sets with projections,
arty debris, & intense trance-performance. Word of mouth may have
amplified their mystique as i never got a chance to see em, but my
sweets recalls her teenage mind was transformed upon seeing them.
Apparently deranging one's youth can also happen from the stage, as
our gentle buddy Joshua Burkett (guitar-fiddler, synth-tarper, &
Mystery Trainer) played sax & bass in early lineups of this band. Not
sure if he'll be sitting in with them, but I am very excited to
finally see something of this enigma decoded at this end-all.

"the guy who stands" in local freedom-rockers Horse Spirit Penetrates
KIERAN LALLY will be plowing us over with flour-powered solo guitar
explosions. what more can i say?

JESSICA CIOCCI is doing something, which is great, cos i really like
everything she does. She was part of that influential multimedia art
crew Paperrad who led the neon cultural counter-assault thru most of
the Oughties. These days she wanders the scorched wastelands in
search of nasty bass, which she'll be sharing from her atop her perch
at the decks. I think she might also be dropping some science in the
form of a few words spoken & possibly some of her latest exquisite
video illustrations. google her ass & peep her tweets:

For quite some time, i've been meaning to share some work by
Providence drawer/printer/animator JO DERY, and lo, here, at the end,
we present a nugget of her tactile fantastical critter underworlds.

Former cavebear & mildew-huffer MARY CAROL has returned to wmass, down
from the thin restorative airs of the Rockies to deliver the last MPBE
lecture with her psychedelic ruminations on finality. the end.
