Praying Psalm 35 Today About America's Enemies Today
America was under attack by the British who wanted to destroy the
American drive for independence, life, liberty and the pursuit of
fulfillment. The outcome was uncertain and the odds were against the
American patriots. "The Continental Congress, which gave us the
Declaration of Independence in 1776, convened for the first time on
September 7, 1774."

session in prayer. . . . As a result of Sam Adams’ intervention, the
motion carried and an Episcopalian clergyman, Rev. Jacob Duche’, was
prevailed upon to open the next morning’s session in prayer. . . .
Duche’ first read several prayers “in the established form,” and then
read the assigned passage from the Book of Common Prayer for that day,
Psalm 35. . . . Adams writes that this passage from the Scripture
electrified the Founders. “I never saw a greater effect upon an
audience. It seemed as if heaven had ordained that Psalm to be read on
that morning.”
"Following the reading of Psalm 35, according to Adams, quite
unexpectedly, because it was not the custom of the day, Rev. Duche’
launched into a spontaneous and unscripted prayer.
"His prayer began, “Be Thou present, O God of Wisdom, and direct the
counsel of this Honorable Assembly; enable them to settle all things
on the best and surest foundation; that the scene of blood may be
speedily closed; that Order, Harmony, and Peace may be effectually
restored, and that Truth and Justice, Religion and Piety, prevail and
flourish among the people.”
"Duche’ went on to ask God to preserve the delegates’ health and vigor
of mind, and to grant them “temporal Blessings” and “everlasting Glory
in the world to come.”
"Finally, Rev. Duche’ closed his prayer this way: “All this we ask in
the name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son and our
Saviour, Amen.”

Holy Father, like Lot (2Pet2:7) and David (Psa 6:6,7) I feel worn
down, distressed, harassed, oppressed and vexed by the licentiousness,
filthiness, lasciviousness, and wantonness of the lawless,
unprincipled, ungodly and immoral wicked among whom I find myself and
my loved ones in my country today. Please "Restore my soul and
brightness to my eyes (Psa 13:3:23:3). "Restore the joy of Your
salvation to me, and give me a willing spirit (Psa 51:12) in the
presence of my enemies.
As for the wicked who have chosen to reject and fight against You,
Your Word and Your disciples, I trust You to enlighten them (John 1:9)
of Your Love, Truth, Light and Life in Jesus Christ; constraining them
by Your Way in Jesus. I trust You to convict them of their sin, Your
judgment of sin, and Your righteousness in Christ that requires such
judgment of wickedness; and if possible draw them to You (John 6:44),
granting them godly sorrow and repentance (Acts 7:25) to the
acceptance of and submission to Your Love, Truth, Light and Life in
Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

1 Please oppose those who oppose You, Your Word and Your disciples,
LORD;
fight those who fight against You and Your children, to
the end that they may know that You are the Most High God, the One
True God over all, who works all things in the universe, seen and
unseen, according to the counsel of Your own will; to the end that
they may turn from their own way to Your Way of everlasting Life,
enlightening Light, Kind and patient Love, and liberating Truth in
Jesus Christ.
2 Holy Father, take Your shields—large and small— and come to
the aid of Your children.
3 Draw Your spear and javelin against our pursuers, and assure
us with Your Word: "I am your deliverance."
4 May You disgrace and humiliate those who seek to kill us or do
us harm; may You turn back and shame those who plan to harm Your
children.
5 May they be like husks in the wind, with the angel of the
LORD driving them away.
6 May their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the
LORD pursuing them.
7 They hide their nets for us without cause; they dig a pit
for us without cause.
8 May You cause ruin to come on them unexpectedly, and may the
net that they hid ensnare them; may they fall into it—to the ruin
of their evil doing.
9 Then we will rejoice in You, LORD; we will delight in Your
deliverance.
10 Our very bones will say, "LORD, who is like You,
rescuing the poor from one too strong for him, the poor or the
needy from one who robs him?"
11 Malicious witnesses come forward; they question us about
things we do not know.
12 They repay us evil for good, making us desolate.
13 Yet when they were afflicted, our prayer for them was
genuine.
14 We went about [grieving] as if for our friends or brothers;
We were bowed down with grief, like one mourning for a mother.
15 But when we stumble, they gathered in glee; they gathered
against us. Assailants we do not know tear at us and did not
stop.
16 With godless mockery they gnash their teeth at us.
17 Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue our lives from
their ravages, our very lives from the young lions that attack us.
18 We will praise You in the great congregation; we will exalt
You among many people.
19 Do not let our deceitful enemies rejoice over us; do not
let those who hate us without cause look at us maliciously.
20 For they do not speak in friendly ways, but contrive
deceitful schemes against your children who live peacefully in
the land.
21 They open their mouths wide against us and say, "Aha, aha!
We saw it!"
22 You saw it, LORD; please do not be silent. Lord, do not be
far from us.
23 Please wake up and rise to our defense, to our cause, our
God and our LORD!
24 Vindicate us, LORD, our God, in keeping with Your
righteousness, and do not let them rejoice over Your children.
25 Do not let them say in their hearts, "Aha! Just what we
wanted." Do not let them say, "We have swallowed them up!"
26 May You cause to be disgraced and humiliated those who rejoice
at the misfortune of Your children; may You cause to be clothed
with shame and reproach those who exalt themselves over Your
children.
27 May those who want the vindication of Your children shout
for joy and be glad; may they continually say, "The LORD be
exalted, who wants His servant's well-being."
28 And our tongue will proclaim Your righteousness, Your
praise all day long.
[This is my prayer list in praying Psalm 35 for the independence,
life, liberty and the pursuit of fulfillment in Jesus Christ of those
who love and obey Jesus today. Next follows a list of those I perceive
to be the opponents and adversaries America's traditional values, but
please feel free to add or subtract the ones you perceive to be
against Jesus, His Word, His Way, and the liberties granted to us by
the Constitution's Bill of Rights, so that you can pray Psalm 35 for
America.]
May the Lord Jesus Christ rebuke, foil, nullify, void, thwart,
frustrate, and render ineffective the evil purposes, enterprises and
plans of those who are trying to impose their evil doing on others,
trying to ensnare others in their sin, especially Your children; the
evil doers, oppressors, tormentors, persecutors, tempters, seducers,
racists, bigots, abusers of women and children, enslavers; advocates,
enablers and practicers of sex slavery, sexual immorality and
abortion; promoters of political correctness and the opponents of
traditional American freedom of speech and religion; pornographers and
pimps; eugenic and genocidal murderers who are trying to impose their
evil way on others, especially on Your children; terrorists, Jihad
Moslems and the Moslems who are trying to impose Sharia law on
others, persecuting and attacking Your children; the genocidal
Moslems who are killing and hurting women, children and the unarmed
civilians in Moslem countries like Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine,
Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia; the vicious Hindus in India who
are attacking and persecuting Your children; the vicious terrorsits
who have killed 5 million men, women and children in the Congo and
Uganda, making killers out of children; the terrorists, anti-Jesus and
anti-Bible politicians, abortionists, atheists, euthanists;
homosexual, lesbian, pederast and other sexually amoral an immoral
oppressors/fascists who try to impose their way on others; atheistic
evolutionists, and shedders of innocent blood; anti-Jesus and anti-
Bible teachers, professors, administrators, judges, legislators,
senators, congressional people, Executive Branch people, police, law
enforcers; anti-Jesus and anti-Bible NEA, CTA, ACLU, Job Corps, union
and ACORN people; George Soros & Colorado's Gill and their supporters,
enablers and sources of income; the share holders and administrators
who are anti-Jesus and anti-Bible in CNN, BBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO,
MTV, BTV, BET, New York Times, L. A. Times; anti-Bible and anti-
Creation/Creator news reporters and outlets who practice deception and
favor and support abortion and sexual immorality; producers of anti-
Christ and anti-Bible movies/dvds/shows like Lionsgate; anti-Jesus and
anti-Bible entertainers; and the evil ones in our lives who are in
high and influential positions who are trying to impose their evil
ways and will on others, especially on your children.
***May the Lord Jesus Christ rebuke, cast into outer darkness,
strike with confusion, chaos, discord, frustration and ineffectiveness
the evil spirit powers, principalities, rulers of darkness,
spirit hosts of darkness and wickedness and anti-Christs, delivering
us and Your other children from all the evil, harm, wickedness and sin
of these evil ones.
***May the Lord Jesus Christ rebuke, strike with confusion, chaos,
discord, frustration, and ineffectiveness; foiling, nullifying,
voiding, thwarting, frustrating, and rendering ineffective the evil
purposes and plans Psa 33:9-11 of the evil doers worked by the evil
spirit powers, principalities, rulers of darkness, spirit hosts of
darkness and wickedness and anti-Christs, delivering us and Your
other children from all the evil, harm, wickedness and sin of these
evil doers. May the Lord Jesus open and enlighten the eyes and minds
of the evil doers involved to know that their sufferings in Hell will
be far greater than any they could inflict on Your children, unless
they repent, turning from their sins and turning to Jesus alone for
forgiveness and salvation.
*Please may Jesus intervene by nullifying, voiding, destroying,
frustrating, foiling, nullifying, voiding, thwarting, frustrating,
and rendering ineffective Psa 33:9-11 the evil purposes, plans,
devices, properties, schemes, endeavors and
goals, way, ways, equipment, suppliers, supplies, businesses,
agencies,
companies, investments and holdings of the evil ones who are trying to
impose their evil way on others, especially on Your children; - so
that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and
dignity. I understand that this is good, and it pleases You, God our
Savior, who has no pleasure in the death of the wicked and who wants
everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

the lives of Your suffering children; delivering Your children

You;

acceptable in Jesus Christ, even in and after such horrible
abuse in this evil world.
