Subject: Why Genuinely Saved-in-Jesus Gentiles Don't Have To Keep The Law, and
Why Genuinely Saved-in-Jesus Gentiles Don't Have To Keep The Law,
and Why Genuinely Saved-in-Jesus Jews Still Keep the Torah-Law

This is an important recurring issue so I find that I have to address
it.

Ephes 2 and Colos 2 show that observing both the handwritten Ten
Commandments  and the rest of the Torah is no longer required of us to
be saved and made a child of our Father in Heaven. Paul and the
Apostles observed the Ten commandments because they were bound to keep
it by their ancestors' covenant (Ex 20) and Jesus command them to do
so in Matt 23. We are genuinely saved by enduring faith in Jesus'
atoning work alone, to save us from the penalty and power of sin
today, and from the presence of sin when we are with Him in Heaven and
when Jesus returns to reign on earth and keep all His promises to
Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses and David.

***Ephes 2:8 For by grace - - - -
4 But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to
satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved
us,
- - - - you are saved - - - -
5Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and
trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with
Christ; it is by grace [His undeserved mercy]) that you are saved
[from judgment due for our sins]; 6 And He raised us up together with
Him and made us sit down together in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of
our being] in Christ Jesus. - - -
- - - - - -through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's
gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.

***Titus 3:4 But when the goodness and love for man appeared from God
our Savior, 5 He saved us — not by works of righteousness that we had
done, but according to His mercy,  through the washing of regeneration
[by the Word] and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 6 This [Spirit] He
poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,  7 so
that having been justified by His grace,  we may become heirs with the
hope of eternal life. HCSB

1 John 2:3 This is how we are sure  that we have come to know Him: by
[the fact that we are] continuing to keep His commands.  4 The one who
says, "I have come to know Him," without continuing to keep His
commands, is a liar, and [Jesus] the Truth is not in him. 5 But
whoever keeps on obeying His Word,  truly in him the Love of God is
perfected.  This is how we know we are in Him:  6 the one who says he
remains in Him should keep on walking just as He walked.

So why are the nonJews/Gentiles/Nations not required to keep the
Sinai- Torah-Law, while the genuinely saved-by-faith-in-Christ
descendants of Israel
still keep and observe the Sinai-Torah-Law, not for salvation, but as
part of the good works to which they were called?
***Ephes 2:10 For we are His creation—created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in
them.
***Tts 3: 8 This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these
things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote
themselves to good works. . . .

Consider the dialogue between "some" and RT.

Some [Two very dear saints]:  Is there a relationship between the Ten
Commandments and the Ceremonial law? Absolutely. If an Israelite
sinned, he broke Law Number 1, the Moral Law of the Ten Commandments.
He then had to bring his offering according to Law Number 2, the
Sacrificial Law to receive forgiveness. This is the relationship
between these two laws. Law Number 1 defines sin, as sin is the
transgression of the Moral Law, the Commandments. 1 John 3:4. Law
Number 2 defined sacrifices, the Ceremonial Law which was the remedy
for sin.

RT: I find no such distinction between the Ten Commandments and the
rest of the commandments given to Moses. Exodus through Deuteronomy
are full of commandments that are just as binding as the Ten
Commandments. Break one law/commandment in Lev 18 and you are under
the death penalty just as if you broke the first of the ten
commandments.

Some: Only Elohim can make a day Holy.

RT: Agreed. Please consider the following:

So as to the Torah and the Sabbath commandment of Exodus 20, I believe
that the following - - - -

[Writing to saved Jews and Gentiles-Nations-nonJews]
***Eph 2:14 For he himself is our shalom - he has made us both [Jews
and Gentiles] one and has broken down the m'chitzah which divided us
15 by abolishing, making void, breaking down, doing away with and
destroying<2673>  in his own body the enmity occasioned by the Law,
commands, regulations &/or Torah<3551>, with its injunctions, precepts
and commands<1785> set forth in the form of civil, CEREMONIAL or
ecclesiastical laws, regulations, decrees and ordinances<1378>. He did
this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a
single new humanity and thus make shalom     [See the basis for this
in facts given below from HCSB, NASB, YLT, Strong's and Complete
Jewish Bible - D. H. Stern]

- - - - with the following - - - -
[Writing to saved Gentiles-Nations-nonJews]
***Colos 2:14 He canceled, erased, wiped away and blotted out<1813>
the HANDWRITTEN [TEN COMMANDMENTS] bill, certificate, manuscript and
document   <5498> of debt, decreees, charges and ordinances against
us. Because of the civil, CEREMONIAL or ecclesiastical decrees,
obligations, ordinances and regulations<1378> , it stood as a
testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-
stake. . . 16 So don't let anyone pass judgment on you in connection
with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-
Hodesh or Shabbat. . . 20 If along with Messiah, you died to the
elemental spirits of the world, then why, as if you still belonged to
the world, are you letting yourselves be in submission to and subject
to its decrees, rules and ordinances<1379>? [From NASB, HCSB, YLT,
Strong's, Complete Jewish Bible - D. H. Stern]

- - - -indicate that both the Ten Commandments and the Torah as a
whole are included in the "Law, commands, regulations &/or
Torah<3551>, . . . its injunctions, precepts and
commands<1785>  . . .  in the form of civil, ceremonial or
ecclesiastical laws, regulations, decrees and ordinances; . . .
abolishing, making void, breaking down, doing away with, destroying,
canceling, erasing, wiping away and blotting out" the requirement that
Gentiles/Nations/nonJews, who have been saved by genuine faith in
Jesus and His atoning work alone, keep Torah, observe Sabbath laws, or
be circumcised. For Gentiles/Nations/nonJews who are reborn by genuine
and persevering faith in Messiah Jesus, being circumcised, observing
Sabbath Laws and/or keeping Torah is a voluntary thing, governed in
Christ by His instructions in 1 Cor 8, Romans 14 and 1 Cor 10. Genuine
Christians who are descendants of Israel, still keep the Sinai Torah
Law like Paul and the Apostles of Acts 15 and 21 (not for salvation
but to keep the Exod 20 covenant of their ancestors, the good works of
Ephen 2:10 and Titus 3:8). The instructions in 1 Cor 8, Romans 14 and
1 Cor 10 show Torah/Law observing Christians and Gentile Christians,
who no longer observe the Torah/Law, how to be in fellowship with each
other in the same place.

I believe Jesus "is our shalom - he has made us both one and has
broken down the m'chitzah which divided us  "by abolishing, making
void, breaking down, doing away with and destroying<2673>  in his own
body the enmity occasioned by the Law, commands, regulations &/or
Torah<3551>, with its injunctions, precepts and commands<1785> set
forth in the form of civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical laws,
regulations, decrees and ordinances<1378>" including the Sabbath Laws.
I believe that Jesus "canceled, erased, wiped away and blotted
out<1813>  the hand written [ten commandments], bill, certificate,
manuscript and document   <5498> of debt, decreees, charges and
ordinances against us, because of the civil, ceremonial or
ecclesiastical decrees, obligations, ordinances and regulations<1378>
" including the Sabbath Laws "[that] stood as a testimony against us;
but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-stake. . . So" I
"don't let anyone pass judgment on" me "in connection with eating and
drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Hodesh or
Shabbat. . . If along with Messiah," I "died to the elemental spirits
of the world, then why, as if" I "still belonged to the world," should
I let myself "be in submission to and subject to its decrees, rules
and ordinances<1379>? [From NASB, HCSB, YLT, Strong's, Complete Jewish
Bible - D. H. Stern]

I believe that Jesus and the Apostles kept all of the Torah, including
the Sabbath laws,  up until His body died, and I believe the Apostles
kept all of the Torah, including the Sabbath laws, after Pentecost not
for salvation (Acts 10 thru 15 and chapt. 21;Eph 2:8,9; Tit 3:5), not
to be saved and made righteous before God, but to keep the covenant
their ancestors made (Exod 20), to do the "good works, which God did
before prepare, that in them we may walk"  . . .being "careful to
devote themselves to good works" according to the covenant of their
ancestors.

RT: Exodus 19 and 20 tell me that the Ten Commandments, including the
Sabbath commandment, were part of a very special and unique covenant
between the nation Israel and Jehovah-Jesus. In Acts chapters 10
through 15 and 21 we see the Apostles, including Paul, all keeping the
Torah Law, including circumcision, Torah Law and Sabbath Law. We also
see the Spirit free the gentile, nations, nonJews from having to be
circumcised or keep Torah Law, except in the matters of " things
offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from
sex sin." This Word with the Word in Romans 14, Galatians, Ephesians 2
and Colos 2 show that God released the Nations, Gentiles, nonJews from
having to keep the rest of theTorah Law, including Sabbath Law and
circumcision.

If you want to honor God by keeping the Sabbath Laws, you should keep
it according to the Word in Romans 14:
5One man esteems day more than day; another esteems every day [alike].
Each should be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6He that regards the
[Sabbath] day, regards it to [the] Lord. And he that eats, eats to
[the] Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, [it is]
to [the] Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. . . . 10 But
thou, why judgest thou thy brother? or again, thou, why dost thou make
little of thy brother? for we shall all be placed before the judgment-
seat of God. 11For it is written, *I* live, saith [the] Lord, that to
me shall bow every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12So
then each of us shall give an account concerning himself to God. 13 We
should no longer therefore judge one another; but judge ye this
rather, not to put a stumbling-block or a fall-trap before his
brother. . . .  16Let not then your good be evil spoken of; . . . 19So
then we should pursue the things which tend to peace, and things
whereby one shall build up another. 20 For the sake of meat do not
destroy the work of God. All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is]
evil to that man who eats while stumbling [in doing so]. 21[It is]
right not to eat meat, nor drink wine, nor [stop keeping Sabbath Laws]
in which thy brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak. 22Hast
*thou* faith? have [your faith about keeping or not keeping the
Sabbath] to thyself before God. Blessed [is] he who does not judge
himself in what he allows [as to Sabbath observance]. 23But he that
doubts [it is right to not observe Sabbath Laws], if he eat [or
doesn't keep Sabbath Laws], is condemned; because [his behavior is]
not of faith; but whatever [behavior is] not of faith is sin. 15:1 But
*we* ought, we that are strong [in our faith and its liberty in
Christ], to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please
ourselves. 2 Each one of us should please his neighbour with a view to
what is good, to edification. 3For the Christ also did not please
himself; . . . [From Darby]"

MORE OF THE DISCUSSION BETWEEN "SOME" AND RT

RT: Colos 2 and Eph 2 show that both the 10 commandments and the Torah
are one and the same, one Law, one Covenant.

***Eph 2:14 For he himself is our shalom - he has made us both [saved
Jew and Gentile] one and has broken down the m'chitzah which divided
us 15 by abolishing, making void, breaking down, doing away with and
destroying<2673>  in his own body the enmity occasioned by the Law,
commands, regulations &/or Torah<3551>, with its injunctions, precepts
and commands<1785> set forth in the form of civil, CEREMONIAL or
ecclesiastical laws, regulations, decrees and ordinances<1378>. He did
this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a
single new humanity and thus make shalom     [See the basis for this
in facts given below from HCSB, NASB, YLT, Strong's and Complete
Jewish Bible - D. H. Stern]

Some [2 precious saints]: Elohim did not include His Sabbath with the
ceremonial ordiances that were nailed to the stake/cross because His
Sabbath is NOT a ceremonial ordiance. Elohim did not include His
Sabbath with the ceremonial Ordiances that were just for the Hebrews
because His Sabbath is for ALL FLESH. . . . .

RT: Agreed the Sabbath law is not a ceremonial ordinance, but the
Torah has many covenant laws about how the Sabbath is to be
ceremonially observed.
Jesus did away with the requirement that we had to keep Sabbath and
Torah to be eternally saved and made right with Him "by abolishing,
making void, breaking down, doing away with and destroying<2673>  in
his own body the enmity occasioned by the Law, commands, regulations &/
or Torah<3551" along with and as well as "its injunctions, precepts
and commands<1785> set forth in the form of civil, CEREMONIAL or
ecclesiastical laws, regulations, decrees and ordinances<1378>. He did
this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a
single new humanity and thus make shalom."

RT: Christian descendants of Israel, and any Gentiles who voluntarily
choose to do so, keep Sabbath and Torah not TO BE saved and made
righteous before God, but BECAUSE they are saved by genuine and
persevering faith in Jesus, keeping Torah as their part of the good
works to which they were saved (Eph 2:10; Titus 3:8).

Some: Why would our omniscient Elohim put His Sabbath in His eternal
law of love if it's not eternal?

RT: Why was there no Sabbath observance from Adam to Moses?
Why was Abraham declared righteous by faith if the Sabbath observance
was necessary to be right with God, since Abe didn't observe the
Sabbath?
Why were Noah and Jacob accepted by Jehovah-Jesus by faith if the
Sabbath observance was necessary to be right with God, since they
didn't observe the Sabbath?
Why was Joseph accepted by Jehovah-Jesus by faith and mightily used by
God if the Sabbath observance was necessary to be right with God,
since Joseph didn't observe the Sabbath?

Some: Why didn't Elohim put His Sabbath with all the ceremonial
sabbaths if it was to end at the stake/cross?

RT: The Torah's Sabbath Laws showed the people how to observe the
Sabbath. If those laws are abolished for all then anyone an observe
the Sabbath any way one wants, including laying around all day
watching sports events and movies all day.

Some: Why didn't Elohim put His Sabbath with the ceremonial ordiances
if His Sabbath was only for the Jews?

RT: Colos 2 gives the answer. Jesus-Jehovah canceled both the
handwrittne ten commandments AND the ceremonial decrees, obligations,
ordinances and regulations.
[Written to saved Gentiles]
H. Stern]

Some: Did Elohim's eternal law change that Yahushua said would not
change by a Jot or Tittle till heaven and earth pass? (Matthew 5:18,
Luke 16:17)

RT: His Law did not and was not changed. Exod 20 shows us that the Ten
Commandments and the rest of the Torah was a solemn covenant between
the nation Israel and Jehovah-Jesus, NOT BETWEEN THE REST OF THE WORLD
AND JEHOVAH-JESUS. So the descendants of the nation of Israel are
still under command to keep Sabbath and all the Torah's Sabbath laws.

Some: Did Elohim's love for us diminish or end at the stake/cross
since He gave us the Seventh day for personal time with Him?

RT: Not at all, and in no way.

Some: Does Elohim no longer want to have this personal, quality Holy
time with us on His Holy Day{s} anymore?

RT: He wants us to treat all days as His days, and all the descendants
of Israel to continue observing Sabbath.

Some: And why did Yahushua keep the Sabbath and why did the Apostles
such as Paul and Luke keep it after the stake/cross?

RT: Because they were bound by the covenant of their ancestors at
Sinai and exodus 20

Some: And why did Yahushua show we would still be keeping the Sabbath
when the temple was destroyed in 70 A.D.? (Matthew 24:20)

RT: Because all the Christian descendants of Israel  were still
keeping covenant, observing the Torah

Some: And why did Elohim say that all flesh would still be keeping the
Sabbath in the New Heaven and Earth? (Isaiah 66:22-23)

RT: Because He wanted to, because Eph 2 with Colos 2 with Acts 15 with
Acts 21 shows that we are all now one body, one Temple of the Spirit,
with the descendants of Israel keeping the Sinai Torah covenant, and
the nonJews, Nations, Gentiles not keeping the Sinai Torah since their
ancestors did not make that covenant with Jehovah-Jesus.

RT: Colos 2 shows us that both the handwritten ten commandments and
the ceremonial law were nailed to the cross and no longer required of
the nonJews/Gentiles to be right with God

***[Written to saved Gentiles]: Colos 2:14 He canceled, erased, wiped
away and blotted out<1813>  the HANDWRITTEN [TEN COMMANDMENTS] bill,
certificate, manuscript and document   <5498> of debt, decreees,
charges and ordinances against us. Because of the civil, CEREMONIAL or
ecclesiastical decrees, obligations, ordinances and
regulations<1378> , it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed
it by nailing it to the execution-stake. . . 16 So don't let anyone
pass judgment on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in
regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Hodesh or Shabbat. . . 20 If along
with Messiah, you died to the elemental spirits of the world, then
why, as if you still belonged to the world, are you letting yourselves
be in submission to and subject to its decrees, rules and
ordinances<1379>? [From NASB, HCSB, YLT, Strong's, Complete Jewish
Bible - D. H. Stern]

Some: How could our Elohim of infinite wisdom place a Temporary law
in an Eternal law or a law that is NOT love in a law that IS love? Our
Elohim is not a fool and “is not the author of confusion…” 1
Corinthians 14:33. Elohim put His Sabbath in His Moral Law of Love
because it is a Law of Love and a very special one that is a SIGN it
is Elohim we Love and Worship and that we are His children. It is also
a SIGN that it is Elohim that sanctifies us and makes us His Holy
children.

RT: All descendants of Israel are under that sign, and any Genitle/
nonJew who wants to observe Sabbath is free to do so, according to
Romans 14.

1 John 3:4-14 stated briefly:
4 Everyone who sins breaks the Law [of God]; in fact, sin is
lawlessness. 5 But you know that He [Jesus] appeared so that He might
take away our sins. And in Him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in Him
[deliberately and knowingly] keeps on doing a sin. No one who
[deliberately and knowingly] continues to do a sin has either seen Him
or known Him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that keeps
on doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. 8 He who
[deliberately and knowingly] continues to do a sin is of the devil;
for the devil keeps on sinning from the beginning. For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the
devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God does not [deliberately and
knowingly] continue to do a sin; for His seed remains in him: and he
cannot [deliberately and knowingly] keep on doing a sin, because he is
born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the
children of the devil: whoever does not keep on doing righteousness is
not of God, neither he who is not loving his brother. . . 14 We know
that we have passed from death to life, because we keep on unselfishly
and kindly Loving our brothers. Anyone who does not continue to
unselfishly and kindly Love remains in death.

A genuine child of God cannot "keep on doing a sin, because he is born
of God" and God will chasten him/her out of the sin (Hebrews 12) with
weakness, sickness or hardships to get him/her to stop sinning, with
the genuine repentance of godly sorrow (1 Cor 11:25-35; 1 Cor 5:3-5; 2
Cor 7). If she/he does not genuinely repent of the sin in godly sorrow
(2 Cor 7), the chastening may even mean the death of his/her body (1
Cor 11:25-35; 1 Cor 5:3-5) so that her/his spirit can be saved from
that sin.
