Hello,

If you maintain links to Google Person Finder or use the Google Person Finder API, please read on.

To make our URLs more consistent, memorable, and trustworthy, we will be hosting all the Google Person Finder pages at google.org instead of googlepersonfinder.appspot.com.  Future Google Person Finder repositories will be launched at http://google.org/personfinder/repositoryname.

So, for example, a repository that would previously have been launched at http://foo.googlepersonfinder.appspot.com/ will now have URLs such as these:

The main page at http://google.org/personfinder will continue to show a list of the active repositories, as it does today.

(Note that HTTPS requests to google.org currently return an SSL certificate for google.com; the certificate will be corrected soon.)

We'll maintain support for the old URLs at googlepersonfinder.appspot.com through the end of February 2012.  That is, if a Google Person Finder repository is launched prior to March 1, 2012, it will be available at both old-style and new-style URLs.  We plan to remove support for the old-style URLs on March 1, 2012.

Please update your pages and tools, and let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!
