I'm sort of partial to:

perl -MTerm::ReadLine -le '$t = new Term::ReadLine; print eval while $_ = $t->readline("> ");'

Other than having to retrain yourself not to use "my" (because you
don't get lexicals across promps), it's not that bad.  Or, if you're
an Emacs user and don't mind a few rough edges:
