Tuning and monitoring

I was just wondering how much effort was being made toenable some
tuning and monitoring for perl6/parrot. For example, can I manually
tune how the various memory heaps will be sized, and how perl will do
gc? (ala java -Xms -Xmx and miscellaneous gc options)

Also, are there plans to enable dumps what is currently living in
various memory locations (heaps), monitor this stuff from outside of
the application, etc? It's always nice when applications have
counters one can access to monitor with snmp and view what might be
taking up all of your memory causing too much garbage collection, etc.
