So sayeth array.pmc:

void set_pmc(PMC *other)

Currently, an alias to C<assign_pmc>. Expected to go away soon.

Evidently this is for some non-standard definition of "soon", as it's
been more than a year AFAICT. This ought to be removed RSN to reduce
confusion (which I suffered from this week).
