Description:
· Manage a team of 5 Perl programmers
· Conduct code review
· Recommend and help implement application architecture improvements
· Work with business units to translate feature needs into technical
specifications
· Keep programmers focused on high priority tasks
· Develop timelines for programming tasks and ensure completion of tasks
on time
· Help communicate application progress and changes with business units
and help desk

Required skills:
· Experience managing teams of programmers, both technically and from a
project perspective
· Extensive programming experience with and passion for using Perl
· Object oriented programming experience
· Experience developing highly scalable web-based, database driven
application
· Experience communicating and working with business units
· A relentless desire to constantly improve application performance,
enhance user experience and meet business challenges in a timely way
· Extensive experience with databases, SQL and building/managing data
models

Desired skills:
· Experience using Javascript to develop “web 2.0” front ends
· Experience with various development paradigms – such as Agile
· Experience working with DBAs, QA staff, project managers and designers
