Perian not installing

I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 on my Macbook Pro. I have Quicktime 7.6.4
installed. I tried to install Perian a while back, but after loading
the prefpane, and clicking the 'Install Perian' button, nothing
happened, and I left it. Recently, I downloaded an update, but the
same problem still exists. Perian refuses to install. I couldn't find
any forum topics with the same problem. Can someone please help?

Im using a 4 year old old mac with mas osx 10.3 and I cant play movie
files with ac3 audio, I tried to install perian downloaded from all
different kinds of sources and it keeps saying corrupt image and that
is failed to mount what is the deal?! ive seen alot of other opics and
as time passes bye the reviews get bad and I see other people have the
same problem but no one helps them.

I guess nobody noticed that 10.3 is not supported. The error you are
getting is from 10.3 not even being able to decompress the disk image.

We've never supported 10.3 by the way. And we've had this topic come
up on a somewhat regular basis, and always respond with the same answer.
