When I played some avi file encoding by h.264, there was only sound
and subtitle but no picture.
The screen just show white color with sound and subtitle.
This situation just happened in h.264 avi file. If I play h.264 mkv or
mp4 file, perian 1.1 works perfect.

yup, same here
I was just going to post up this thread to get ppl noticed about this
problem.

Those H.264 files play back normal under perian 1.0, but the picture
turned white after I've upgraded it to perian 1.1.
I've alredy tried uninstalling the perian 1.1, but no good.

Looking forward to seeing updates soon, it isn't handy without the H.
264 decoder...

same here... but i noticed it only happens to videos with subtitles...
disabling external subtitle support solved it for me...

for non-english movies, i still watch using vlc...

In my case it's web embedded h.264 QuickTime MOV files. Audio is fine,
but video is scrambled.

For now we have to 'uninstall' perian whenever working with this
interanl web site, and then 'reinstall' when we're done.

Where do you want samples?

I browsed a few other sites, and somebody notes this may be due to a
bad header on h.264 files produced by HandBrake, but I have confirmed
going from Perian 1.1 to 1.0 resolves the issue, so I'm not sure what
the fix is, but I have plenty of samples (as I have converted all my
DVDs to AVI-h.264 files).

This is already addressed in SVN; I don't know of any workarounds
except to tell the Handbrake guys to stop putting things in avi files
that shouldn't go there. mkv/mp4 work.

(if a few more issues with 1.1 can be addressed soon I'd like to make
a bugfix release sooner rather than later, but there aren't any plans
at the moment)

So where do you want a sample sent to? I'm having the same problem.
