Themomentwhenanappleistooheavyandhastofalldowntotheground
is
researching the notion, perception and use of time based
processes in a context of a performance work. We will question
this moment of in between, the intensified dialogue between the
´just before´ and the ´right after´. Often we use poetry to
explain these moments.ᅵ But
what will remain and leave traces and how could it be possible
to modulate this by using tools like long- or short duration,
repetition or detail shots?

The use of material in Performance Art is very open and often
marked by the specific articulation of this art form. Material
has symbolic character, which is needed for to underline the act
or the gesture of the artist. In connection with the body, or
the figure material changes often the meaning. ᅵAs performance artists we are
highly attracted to objects, because we are able to create
traces through them, we are able to visualize abstract ideas and
make them directly touchable. An object allows us to extend our
body and imagination.
This workshop will focus on the supportive and enriching aspect of objects within a performance. So how do I decide what is the best matching object for my idea? What is the specific characteristic of an object and where are potential traps during the use?
We are looking for
a complete practical approach to all these questions and want to
invite you to explore your personal material which support your
own artistically language. Not every nice object is a good
object for a performance. So where is the difference?
*PASyouth shift
11. -20th of February
In cooperation with tjg. theater junge generation (http://www.tjg-dresden.de/)
/ Dresden, (Germany)
Open Call!
Only 5 places left!
(Please note: A PASyouth project is addressed to
young people between 15 – 21years old and the workshop will be
in german)
Shift is focusing on certain times of changes and transitions, like the period of growing from a teenager to an adult or the crossing line from life into death. Death and youth are representing a time with the feeling of a massive uncertainty in all our actions. Everything seems in a liminal state and it’s quite likely that we even lose the notion of our self as a person.

* PAScompact / as a new study format
PAScompact is a new format from PAS which is especially
addressed to art academies and universities in cultural
contexts. PAScompact is intended to last between 3 and 5 days
and provides a unique form of teaching all around the basic
topics of Performance Art.
One of these compact formats is „What is important?“ and focuses on a biographical and personal approach in an art process in general. Here we try to transform personal values into signs, movements or images; so we create art works which are accessible for more than one person from more than one culture.
PAScompact was already successfully realized in cooperation with
Guangzhou Live11 (curated by Jonas Stampe) and the Guangzhou Art
Academy for fine Arts (China) and will be at the Satakunta
university for applied sciences / Kankaanpᅵᅵ (Finland) in
January and at the TEAK academy / Helsinki (Finland) in march
2012.

PASfeatures a duo performance by Patricia Correa & Liesje
van den Berk
ᅵ
Haan galo - haan
galoᅵis a duo-performance of Patrᅵcia Corrᅵa and Liesje van den
Berk about relation, game and control. The eye connection is an
important part of our work. Two persons are connected in their
own game… a voice without sound and a powerful profound bond. We
also use subtle elements to communicate our game with the
audience. For example the metronome, that marks the pulse of the
game. The sound communicated with the audience this intimate
game that we were playing.
Eye contact that never breaks, increasing emotions, control,
breathing, control, fight, control, friendship, control, tears,
control and more breathing… We talk with the eyes!
