Festival's Survival Kit action Apartment
From 4th to 11th September 2010

From 4th to 11th September there will be action Apartment in the 4 room flat in Upiša pasaža on Čaka street. It is organised during the festival Survival Kit, performance artists from 8 countries will make performances in that flat. 

From 4th to 1th September in the flat in Upiša pasaža there will be a photo exhibition about performances that have been organized in different apartments around Riga during last year, about video demonstrations and an exhibition on different performance artefacts.

The essence of the project is the apartment where all the artists live during their stay in Riga. They make common meals in the kitchen and live in that flat, so their life becomes a part from performance.

There will be performance artists from Spain, USA, India, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Estonia and Latvia.

Every evening there will be an organized event with 3-5 performances. The participants can use all the rooms for their performances.

The culmination will be on 4th of September on the White night – the night of contemporary art and culture. Then performances will be organized in the flat from 8.30 pm till 6 am.

The project is organized together with Contemporary Art Centre of Latvia.
