7:30-9:00 PM WOMEN AND/OF SPEED PANEL
A panel focusing on the ways in which contemporary women artists have
engaged the notion of speed in their artistic production through
subject matter and new technologies.

Fast Women and consideration of their project as a whole, by video

Locative Actualities to Advanced Technologies
· An exploration of the ways in which contemporary women
artists explore speed from diverse perspectives and using a wide
array of artistic practices to achieve their goals, by

Margaret Dolinsky, Art as a Virtual Reality on the International Grid
· A close examination of virtual reality experiences for the
fine arts being developed by women and showcased on international
test beds that utilize high end computing facilities called the Grid,
by Margaret Dolinsky, Assistant Professor and Research Scientist at
the School of Fine Arts, Indiana University, Bloomington.
Jennifer Brayton, Rapid Technological Reliance/Rapid Technological
Burnout: The Experiences of Canadian Cyberfeminism
· An outline of the real world implications of rapid
technological innovations upon PAR-L, Canada's first electronic
feminist organization, across the last 10 years, by Jennifer Brayton,
Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Ryerson
University.

shrines for young people slain in Boston
Soup by Leah Gauthier
A conceptual and relational work that consists of cooking and sharing
soup. Participants are asked to turn off their electronic devices
and enjoy a humble meal with each other.
