OilWatch is an international network of resistance
against the activities of oil companies in tropical regions. OilWatch Sudamerica is based in Quito,
Ecuador and has been working to hold oil companies responsible for the
consequences of their activities on indigenous communities, the environment,
and the Ecuadorian economy as a whole, as well as working to halt further
prospecting in El Oriente (the Ecuadorian Amazon) and it's protected lands.
Come
join us in a highly interactive discussion with members of OilWatch Sudamerica,
directly from Quito via Skype. If you cannot join us in person, please
follow our Livestream and/or
Twitterfeed @RevTalks where
we'll be fielding questions and comments from our remote participants
live. Please also Like us on Facebook
for more updates on our programing.
RevTalks reaches out to people who have experience in social movements elsewhere and invites them to interact with activists and theorists who will help us understand the challenges and opportunities of our movement here at home. The content of the conversations will range from tactics and “best practices” to analyses of the current economic and political order. In all cases, the engagement will be participatory and will offer deep learning and a lively debate.
