Something strange happened.

I recently upgraded from MySQL 5.0 to Percona Server 5.1. I use yum
remove to remove the old mysql server and client. And I used yum
install to install Percona server & client. It was running fine for a
while. Then something strange happened. I was in the middle of the
mysql prompt, all of a sudden I got the message that mysqld has been
disconnected.

I logged out of mysql, then relogged in. To my surprise the mysqld has
been reverted back to MySQL 5.0, the version before the upgrade. How
did that happen?

So I once again removed mysql server & client. And installed Percona
server & client again. After the server was started up, "show global
status;" showed this:

| have_innodb | NO

Innodb has been disabled. What has happened? What should I do? What
can I do to prevent this (the disappearing Percona Server and the
disabled InnoDB) from happening again?

Thank you.

Hi,

Could it be that someone (or something) re-installed the old packages?

As to why InnoDB is disabled? What does the error log say?

Regards,
