Hi,
   That's amazing fast, .. Pardon my delay, i was commuting.

 Ok my Percona.repo file is here:

          baseurl=http://repo.percona.com/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
          enabled = 1

rpm -qa *Percona gives me this:

    Percona-Serv er-client-51-5.1.54-rel12.5.188.rhel5
    Percona-Server-shared-compat-5.1.48-6
    Percona-Server-server-51-5.1.54-rel12.5.188.rhel5

Believe this is what you need. Additionally i installed python2.6 from epel
repo, so don't expect any non-standard stuff on that part.

I might note the IUS community project has CentOS/RHEL5 MySQLdb rpms:

http://iuscommunity.org/
http://dl.iuscommunity.org/pub/ius/stable/Redhat/5/x86_64/repoview/py...

These work fine if you have the shared-compat package installed.
