Wild Solutions: Overcoming Human-Wildlife Conflict Issues

Call for Abstracts:

The Center for Tropical Ecology and Conservation (CTEC) at Antioch University is currently accepting proposals for oral and poster presentations, and panel topics that address the following goals:

• To give researchers and educators the opportunity to discuss current human-wildlife conflict issues in the Tropics and form collaborative relationships.

• To explore current research and recommendations about human-wildlife conflict interventions including: improving current techniques for intervention,

finding financially sustainable practices, transference of scientific findings to policy, decreasing human-wildlife competition for natural resources.

• To discuss the role of scientists as educators in local communities where human-wildlife conflict is a problem.

• To discuss ideas of how to promote a community-based conservation ethic focusing on sustainable natural resource use and wildlife tolerance.
