Prior to 1920 each of the Villages of Ilston, Kittle, Parkmill, Pennard, and Southgate, together with their hamlets and lands had its own historical identity, its own inhabitants occupations etc. Following the sale of the Kilvrough estate in 1920 however, all that was to change

Based on research, your own memories, and anything else revealed through the eyes of inhabitants and surviving Documents, etc, this Group will both reflect and be of the History of Pennard and its area, and hopefully, in the not too distant future, will also help to be the basis for the formation of a Pennard & Area Local History Group, so please do join this Project, especially as joining is absolutely free.
