Canada Customs is no longer seizing gomorrahy porn

footing (insertion of a foot into an introitus/vagina or an anus/anal
canal), or stumping (insertion of the stump of a limb into an
introitus/vagina or an anus/anal canal) - in pornographic material is no
longer one of Canada Customs and Revenue Agency's (sub)criteria for
prohibition of importation under tariff item No. 9899.00.00 of the List
of Tariff Provisions to the CUSTOMS TARIFF. This change was recently
affected by an appeal to Customs Disputes that concerned three
pornographic videos which had been seized by the Prohibited Importations
Unit on the grounds that they contained explicit descriptions and
depictions of gomorrahy - to wit, vaginal fisting, anal fisting, and
vaginal footing - and hence were alleged by the Unit to constitute
"obscenity" as defined under the CRIMINAL CODE. In view of the
arguments and evidence presented by the appellant party in support of
its postion that such descriptions and depictions in pornographic
material do not, in fact, render the material "obscene" as defined under
the Code, the case was decided in its favour on or about Wednesday
August 6 of this year.
The accordingly amended Memorandum D9-1-1, CANADA CUSTOMS AND
REVENUE AGENCY'S POLICY ON THE CLASSIFICATION OF OBSCENE MATERIAL, can
now be viewed as a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) file on the Canada
Customs and Revenue Agency website at

Still, I think it says something really disturbing about us when we
