She was the da of Lt Christopher Valerio Edward Paul BANON RN (son of Christopher James Patrick BANON of Broughall Castle, Kilcormack, Co Offaly, Ireland and Rose da of Valerio MAGAWLY-CERATI-DE CALRY, 6th Count Magawly of Calry) and (m 1935) Katherine Mary Margaret Frances Josephine (1917-2004) da of Hon John Martin Valentine Joseph FFRENCH (1872-1946), son of the 5th Baron ffrench. She m 1981 John Robert SIMPSON.

Per Burke's Family Index (BFI), the Banon family of Kilgreaney House, County Carlow, last appeared in Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland in the 1958 edition. I do not presently have access to a copy of that edition, but presumably they are the same family as the Banons of Broughall Castle, who certainly appeared in the 1912 edition.

 

Per BFI, the Count Magawly Cerati de Calry last appeared in the Foreign Titles section of Burke's Peerage in the 1939 edition.

Christopher James Patrick Banon was his wife's second cousin twice removed upwards, he having been a great-grandson of the 2nd Count Magawly and his wife, and she having been their 3 x greats-granddaughter:
