The late Mr Salmon's wife is a member of the Cadbury landed gentry (LG) and former chocolate manufacturing family, although her branch of the family does not appear in the pedigree in Burke's LG. A fuller account of the family is, however, available at http://www.pennyghael.org.uk/Cadbury.pdf as one of the many Quaker genealogies on that website compiled by Sir Charles Pease, 6th Bt.

Mrs Salmon is the youngest of the five daughters of Alan CADBURY (26 VI 1907 - 2 IX 1994) and his wife (married 1932), Janet Mary Margaret WALKER (22 VI 1909 - 6 X 2001). Alan Cadbury was himself the second son of Ald William Adlington CADBURY (17 II 1867 - 8 VII 1957), Lord Mayor of Birmingham, 1919-21, and his wife (married 11 II 1902), Emmeline Hannah WILSON (22 VI 1883 - 25 VI 1966).

Ald William Cadbury was the second son of Richard CADBURY (29 VIII 1835 - 21 III 1899) and his first wife (married 24 VII 1861), Elizabeth ADLINGTON (13 XI 1838 - 31 XII 1868), who were also the parents of Barrow CADBURY (27 IX 1862 - 9 III 1958), Chairman of Cadbury Brothers Ltd, 1922-32, who was the great-grandfather of Ruth Margaret CADBURY (born 14 V 1959), Mrs Nicholas GASH, who has since 2015 been the MP (Labour) for Brentford and Isleworth.

Richard Cadbury was married secondly, on 25 July 1871, to Emma Jane WILSON (25 VII 1846 - 21 V 1907), whose brother, Dr William WILSON (15 IX 1857 -1909), was the father of Emmeline Hannah Wilson, who became the wife of Richard Cadbury's son from his first marriage, Ald William Cadbury (he first met her in 1889, when she was six years old; three years later, when she was nine and he was twenty-five, he resolved to ask her father for her hand in marriage once she turned eighteen).

Richard Cadbury's brother, George CADBURY (19 IX 1839- 24 X 1922) was the great-great-grandfather of the present Duchess of Argyll, née Eleanor Mary CADBURY (born 26 I 1973). He was also the grandfather of Jocelyn Benedict Laurence CADBURY (3 III 1946 - 31 VII 1982), MP (Conservative) for Birmingham Northfield, 1979-82.
