From the Telegraph of 23 July 2010:
PARSONS
the Hon. Martin of Womersley and Wentbridge. In Yorkshire, died
peacefully on 16th July at the Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract,
aged 71 years. The loving and much loved husband of Aline, father of
Rupert and Richard, grandfather of Harry, brother, uncle, cousin and
real friend of so many in England, Ireland and Australia. Funeral at
St. Martin's Church, Womersley, Friday 30th July at.— 11 a.m. when
family request a splash of colour, in keeping with Martin. Private
cremation; other enquiries to Co-operative Funeral Services,
Pontefract, 01977 703222.
He was the son of the 6th Earl of ROSSE KBE (1906-1979) and Anne
(1902-92, formerly wife of Ronald Owen Lloyd Armstrong-Jones MBE QC
and, by that first marriage, mother of Lord Snowdon) dau of Lt-Col
Leonard Charles Rudolph MESSEL OBE TD of Nymans, Staplefield, Sussex
and Frances MBE (d 1960) dau of Edward Linley SAMBOURNE. His borther
is the present, 7th, earl. And a half-brother is, of course, the 1st
Earl of Snowdon. He m 1965 Aline Edwina dau of George Alexander
MACDONALD of Gable End, Priors Marston, Warwicks and had two sons as
above, who are 4th & 6th in line to the earldom of Rosse. (The eldest
son's son is 5th in line.)
