The Hon.Lorraine Charmian Gabrielle Carleton died peacefully in Sussex
on 14th November 2010 aged 90. Beloved wife of the late James, adored
mother of Tizzie and Tom and loving grandmother of Ella, Tilda, Barney
and James. Funeral takes place on 26th.Nov at 2pm at All Saints
Church, West Dean, Nr.Seaford, E.Sussex.
She was the younger and only surviving dau of the 2nd and last Baron
DORCHESTER (1876-1963) and the Hon Kathleen de BLAQUIERE (1891-?, dau
of the 6th and last Baron de BLAQUIERE (1856-1920), 'hereditary great
alnager of Ireland', and Marie Lucienne Henriette Adine OBE (d 1942)
dau of Greorge DESBARATS of Montreal). She m 1947 James Metcalfe
KNOWLES (1911-93), son of Thomas Greenwood KNOWLES of Halifax. They
had a son and a dau as above.
