The last message posted in Safety and Security of Volunteers in Nigeria was posted in 2004. Why isn't/hasn't there been an update? I just found out a friend's daughter is going to Nigeria and the State Departemnt website is full of cautions for several of the states as well as Lagos crime.

This message board discusses safety and security issues related to Peace Corps volunteers who are presently serving in different Countries of Service.

Since there haven't been any volunteers serving in Nigeria since about 1993 - there are no Peace Corps safety issues posted about Nigeria.

The US State Department does have a presence in Nigeria, so the State Department Web Page for Nigeria is definitely the place to go for the most current information on safety issues in Nigeria.
