Islamabad, Dec 21: Three-day international conference titled
“Fostering Sustainable Development in South Asia” organized by the
Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) began here today…The
speakers were of the view that a win-win approach was needed to bring
about solution of all the disputes. Attended by the delegates from
various countries including India and Pakistan, the participants of
the multifaceted conference deliberated on various issues that have
been impeding the socio-economic growth in the region…

signing four memoranda of understanding for hydel projects, besides a
pact on setting up a superspeciality hospital on the lines of the All-

DHAKA: 'Smiling Sun Mobile Clinic' at North Baluchar in Sylhet has
emerged as a new hope to the underprivileged people of the region who
have been deprived of proper healthcare services for long. This clinic
is operated by a local NGO named SSKS and is one of the 319 static
clinics under the Smiling Sun network which is receiving support from
Grameenphone under the 'Safe Motherhood and Infant Care,' project.
From August 2007 to November 2009, a total of 940,251 economically
disadvantaged mothers and infants have received free healthcare
services under this project, officials said…
