New Delhi, Jan 14: Ruling out any Indian threat to Pakistan, Foreign
Secretary Nirupama Rao Thursday (said)…“We have reiterated a number of
times that we harbour no aggressive designs on Pakistan,” she added.
“Pakistan’s concerns of the perceived threat in the east and on Indian
activities in Afghanistan need to be unequivocally rebutted,” Rao said
at the launch of the India Initiative of the Centre for a New American
Security and the ASPEN Institute India…

ISLAMABAD: The government snatched time from a tense National Assembly
on Wednesday to rush through it a highly desirable bill to provide for
free legal aid to indigent people, after some divisive opposition
fireworks blocked a debate on Karachi violence for another day. As the
house passed the first bill of the new year with a majority vote,
after rejecting several opposition amendments, the government promised
to bring another public interest legislation within this or the next
week to check the so-called “land mafia”…

NEW DELHI: India and Bangladesh have given a final shape to the
agreement for setting up a 130-km power transmission link to be
established at a cost of Rs. 882 crore further strengthening
cooperation between the two nations in the power sector…Power Grid
Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) would invest Rs. 178 crore while
the balance would be borne by Bangladesh...

weight limits on schoolbags of its students...
