LAHORE: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said on Sunday
that both Pakistan and India should learn a lesson from European
countries and normalise their relations. In an interview with Najam
Sethi on Dunya News, Altaf said it was unfortunate that the ruling
elite of India had always projected Pakistan as a threat to India
while the Pakistani ruling elite had always ‘taught’ Pakistani masses
that India was a threat to Pakistan…

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Nepal have reaffirmed their commitment to
deepen bilateral cooperation in all areas of common interest. This was
agreed during Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir’s call on Nepalese
Foreign Minister Ms. Sujata Koirala in Kathmandu Sunday. During the
meeting, views were exchanged on Pakistan-Nepal bilateral relations,
regional cooperation in the framework of SAARC, and regional and
international issues of mutual interest…

THIMPHU: The Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y. Thinley left for a six
day visit to the Indian capital New Delhi Sunday…. A news release from
the Foreign Ministry says the Prime Minister is making the visit to
felicitate the newly elected government of India…. It will also
provide an opportunity to renew and strengthen the existing excellent
bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

COLOMBO: Pakistan Railways (PR) will rehabilitate the 250 km long rail
track damaged in the civil war in Sri Lanka besides carrying out a
project for improving Sri Lankan Railways' rolling stock….Giving
details of agreements made during his visit to Sri Lanka he said, five
hundred 4-wheeler freight coaches would be converted into eight-
wheelers besides upgrading 60 diamond style coaches to new standard…
