KARACHI: Some of India’s largest corporations are interested in doing
business with Pakistan and building relationships in spite of the
current stand-off between the two governments over security and
political issues, says Amin Hashwani, President of the Pakistan-India
CEOs Business Forum (PICBF)…. “I have just come back from India and,
contrary to general belief, there are a lot of business houses
interested in working with us,” he said, referring to his week-long
trip early this month. Citing from his own experience, he said there
is no animosity at people-to-people level between the two nations and
the civil society including businessmen are in a better position to
help bring a meaningful improvement in bilateral relations, he said…

CHENNAI: The University of Madras will start study centres for the
benefit of Tamil students in Sri Lanka, Madras University Chancellor
G. Thiruvasagam said. The draft plan to commence classes from July,
2010, was mooted during a discussion with Vadivel Krishnamoorthy,
Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Southern India…
