Greg Meredith's upcoming book looks like it's almost available for
pre-order from Artima:

I very briefly participated in an early tech-review for this book (I
had to withdraw pretty early, though, due to overcommitment), but what
I saw was very promising. I suggest taking a look, but I don't know
whether actual downloads are available yet.

Just to be clear since a few people have already asked: this book uses
Scala for the examples and it follows a *very* functional approach,
though it doesn't, if I recall correctly, use Scalaz explicitly
(though some of this might have changed since the early review).
