Hi All.
My group at Cisco is hiring.
Several of the people we've hired in the Portland area have ended up with significant raises, so I'm pretty sure our pay is competitive. Obviously I can't make any generic promises, but please talk to me.
The job is work from home and super flexible. My coworkers have worked 4 10 hours days, worked from an RV with a 3g account, worked from Europe, poured a ton of time into a side project, taken 3 month sabbaticals, taken several 3 week leaves per year, quit and come back in two years, etc...
This is primarily a front end development team but we do lightweight server side development on production systems and a bunch of cutting edge internal tools.
We can hire for three different roles, and we can hire several people in each.
- We need senior developers/tech leads and can give them a real lead role.
- We also have room for smart junior developers who can demonstrate knowledge of the technology, even if they have a very short track record.
- We also need technical PM/Product owners.
We own the front end code for the framework of a 100k+ page website; a number of large ajax apps, an emerging strategy for mobile, a bunch of intranet apps, and a slew of other deliverables. We try our best to match our developer's tasks with their passions and we have a lot to choose from.
We have a core of developers and a bunch of people who resolve issues, defray politics, wrangle with PMs, etc so that the developers can be relaxed and productive. We also have a core of tech leads setting strategy and championing best practices within the organization.
We're pushing hard to move to agile processes, continuous integration and automated testing, and we're making real progress in all those areas, but we're only partway there on all of them. If your passion is for driving process change we really want to talk to you.
Group medical is available, other benefits are minimal.
