I volunteered at the event last year and it was awesome. They had
wonderful performances by local musicians, interviews with local
techies and entrepreneurs, hilarious local comedians, live painting by
talented local artists, and much more. I'll be volunteering again at
this year's event and they promise that it'll be even bigger, with the
festivities taking over Pioneer Courthouse Square for much of the
broadcast.
So please tune in this Friday and Saturday at http://30hourday.org/ to
watch the action unfold and pledge your donations to the many worthy
causes this event supports. Please also consider sponsoring the event
if you're a company, it's affordable and last year's event got a lot
of local and worldwide attention, with coverage from many major media
outlets.
About the organizers: Cami Kaos does livestreamed interviews with
local techies at Strange Love Live (http://strangelovelive.com/about),
Rick Turoczy publishes the Portland area tech business news site
Silicon Florist (http://siliconflorist.com/), and Dr. Normal does the
production magic for Strange Love Live and interviews at Crazy Talk
(http://drnormal.com/). They've also collaborated on creating tech
news videos that they share through memePDX
(http://twitter.com/memePDX).
