Title:      What's so neat about secure mashups?

Speaker:    Isaac Potoczny-Jones & Eric Mertens
Date:       Tuesday, July 29th, 10.30am

Location:   Galois, Inc.
            421 SW 6th Ave. Suite 300
(3rd floor of the Commonwealth Building)
            Portland, Oregon

Abstract:

Cross-domain wikis and a cross-domain RSS aggregators are specific
instances of a "mashup" application.  A mashup is a third-party
application which combines data from different web sites into a coherent
whole.  Many mashups utilize mapping data from Google Maps and other
similar public data sources, but when private or secret data needs to be
aggregated into a coherent whole, a different approach is required.
"Secure Mashup" protocols such as OAuth are starting to emerge on the
wider Internet, and work in this area can have significant impact on the
IC and other secure collaboration environments.

In this talk, Isaac will explain what's interesting about secure mashups
from a secure collaboration point of vew, and will present some
architectures related to them, as well as some potential applications.

Eric will explain how OAuth fits into all this, and will describe the
    OAuth protocol in some detail.
