Say, Chris from Twitter.

We met at the bar after the pdxfunc meeting.

You mentioned moving to Scala.  It's my job to learn how people are using functional programming.  Would you mind if I asked you a couple of related questions via email?

I think you have the wrong person. My name is Lennon, and I do work at Twitter (in SF), but mostly on JavaScript and Ruby engineering, not Scala. I also haven't been to a pdxfunc meeting in, well, ever. I just lurk on the list.

Nope, Chris Chen is who you were talking to (sorry Lennon). I wasn't able to tell if he's actually on the mailing list or not, but here are some links:

Stephen,

if you're interested in talking to people in general about FP usage (and not just Haskell, as I thought from your original message), feel free to reach out on the PDXScala list, as well: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/pdxscala

A number of us on the list have worked with various aspects of FP for a while and I suspect not everyone is on both mailing lists (though, they probably should be!).

Thanks for the clue.  I'm slowly getting signed up for all the local functional programming groups.

Pretty neat ecosystem we've got going on here in Portland.  Looks like it's a good time to be in the software world here on the Willamette!
