Need assistance with Upcoming import trouble

Help. Audrey, Reid and I are really busy with WhereCampPDX ... but
there's a high-priority Calagator issue that we need help with. If you
can figure out what's going on and/or provide code to fix, I'll be
grateful and glad to help get the code reviewed and integrated.

The issues all deal with Upcoming imports:

1. HIGH PRIORITY: Importing some events fails with "ERROR: Unable to
find any upcoming events to import from this source", e.g.,
http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4551557/ -- whereas other Upcoming
imports are fine.

2. MEDIUM PRIORITY: Unwanted backslashes are being added, e.g. instead
of "Portland, OR" we're getting "Portland\, OR". An example of this is
an import from http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4550691/ that created
http://calagator.org/events/1250457764

3. LOW PRIORITY: Something silly is happening with bulleted lists
imported from Upcoming, where the bullet is being rendered on one line
and the content on another. See this source
