Our client is a stock savings bank holding company with more $7 billion
assets and a reputation for innovative, convenient banking services and
products. We have been requested to identify and pre-screen qualified
candidates for a Compensation Manager opportunity.
The Compensation Manager will report directly to the Senior Vice President,
Human Resources. Reporting to the Compensation Manager are a
Compensation Consultant and a Compensation Technician.
The Compensation Manager will serve as a consultative resource to Corporate
Officers, Division Heads, and Human Resource Management professionals
regarding all major aspects of compensation program design and
communication.
Additionally, the Compensation Manager will be responsible for the
development and implementation of a comprehensive compensation plan
which will assist the company its motivational and financial goals.
This position will provide leadership and assist with the overall direction for
compensation programs and policies in the following areas:
Base Compensation
Incentive Compensation
Reward Systems
Salary Planning
Sales Compensation
Merit Programs
Market Compensation Analysis
Performance Appraisal
Communications
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Formulate annual compensation strategy and recommend compensation
programs, policies, and pay practices to support overall corporate business
plan.
Analyze industry compensation trends and recommend changes in current
compensation plans when needed.
Review internal pay practices on an ongoing basis.
Work closely with human resource generalists to provide tactical and
procedural support regarding merit increase programs and pay practices
associated with promotions, development moves, and market adjustments.
Provide training to line and human resource managers on salary
administration and related salary issues, pay practices, and job evaluation
processes.
Develop communication tools to communicate company pay philosophy and
of other pay programs to all exempt and nonexempt employees.
Provide advice, counsel, and guidance m the administration of the position
evaluation program to ensure internal corporate equity and external
competitiveness in the proper evaluation of positions with respect to the
general markets.
Interpret and communicate, comply with and audit compliance with legislation
and regulations affecting compensation programs.
Assist the Senior Vice President, Human Resources is the design of new and
the revision of current base and variable compensation plans.
Qualifications
Eight (8) or more years of in (or combination of) direct compensation, incentive
or executive compensation, stock plans, gain sharing, and other alternative
reward systems.
PC literate
Previous experience using statistics and multiple regression analysis.
In-depth knowledge of compensation issues, trends and practices, and reward
systems.
Ability to communicate effectively in a professional and positive manner with
all levels of management.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
A bachelor's degree is required; an MAIR or MBA is preferred
