Rules changes in the Senate can only be changed on the first day of a new session.  Right now although the Constitution says that a simple majority is all that is needed to pass legislation in the Senate, rules have been in effect which require 60 votes to even introduce or discuss a bill as well as to pass it.

These rules have made it impossible to pass any legislation despite majority support.

Please call tomorrow or leave messages tonight demanding a change in the rules to allow majorities to discuss and pass legislation as our founders intended. Tomorrow may be the day!  Congressional operators will connect you to senate President Harry Reid and Bob Menendez and Frank Lautenberg

This is my first official notice and the new PDA Chair for New Jersey.  Joanne O'Neill stepped down earlier this year voluntarily to support a third party.  She is still active with the Justice Party.
