I am confused about something. I can easily play YouTube videos in
IE8. However, when I try to download the video and save it to my hard
drive, I cannot play the content back. I know that the video is in
the .flv (flash) format. I do have the Adobe Flash Viewer installed.
This is what is confusing me; if I can view the .flv video in my
Internet Explorer8 browser, why can't I view the same .flv video
through IE8 when I download and save it?
I did try one .flv viewer, but the video quality was terrible! I
prefer to view the YouTube videos in IE8, where the video and audio
quality is excellent.
How does one save YouTube videos to one's hard drive? Are there any
recommended free programs to accomplish this; programs that will
reproduce the videos in the same "HIGH QUALITY" that YouTube displays
when viewing the videos on the internet?
Ty,

There have been about 120 million copies downloaded, and they are now
being downloaded at about 4 copies a second.
My weekly newspaper column last week was on downloading and converting
YouTube videos.
If you would like a copy let me know and I will email it.
