want to be able to plug into computer and move sound files onto hard drive
under $50
suggestions?

I have this one also. Great product. You can move MP3 files back and
forth.

That will do this too (for casual use anyway).
Thanks for that BTW -- I got one then.

I'd much rather have that already-recommended Sony for more intensive
use, but thought it worth a mention anyway...

I use and am a fan of Dragon Naturally Speaking ($30 occasionally from Amazon). When I saw this subject presented I went to the aforementioned recorder and it was truly a very good product.

Then I saw the Sony ICD-SX700D digital recorder with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Incredibly it has the capacity to automatically create text from your recordings.

Economically $200 (Amazon $166) is a lot of money. However, it may be justified depending on what you do with your recordings and how much time you spend with what you record. Time is money.

Just another opinion.
