Hi all,

The election may be over, but voting continues!  I've pasted some information below about our "Greatest Documentaries" poll, which we are launching tomorrow (Thursday, November 8, 2012) on POV's blog.

Should you want to share this with your communities, there's lots of language below, and images are attached, as well. Otherwise, we'll be having a lot of fun with this over the next month, so please do stop over to POV's website, Twitter or Facebook for the rest of the month of November!

POV's list of the "greatest" documentaries of all-time: launches Thurs., Nov. 8, 2012! 

PBS’s acclaimed documentary series POV is leading an online search for the "greatest" documentaries of all time, and we’d like to see if you are interested in sharing the news or even writing about the poll, which starts Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. ET and ends on Thursday Nov. 29, 2012 at 5 p.m. ET.

We ask that you embargo this news until Thursday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. ET, when the poll will launch on POV's Documentary Blog at http://to.pbs.org/greatestdocs.

How can we possibly find the greatest documentary? There are already lists from sources as varied as the International Documentary Association and IMDb. And countless journalists have, of course, created their own essential lists as well.

But it's been a while since anyone has asked fans of documentary films to help find the greatest docs, so POV is picking up the mantle! We're taking inspiration from the list generated every ten years by Sight & Sound magazine, mixed in with some “American Idol”-style judging and the power of social media.

The poll will launch with a list of 300 documentaries, but anyone can add and vote on new entries. 

Attached you will find images of various sizes that you may use as you like.
