Hello Everyone!
Summer is well underway here. We have been very busy with all the
regular farming activities--cultivating corn and soybeans, making hay,
mulching the garden, and butchering the chickens. We didn't actually
butcher the chickens. We took about 220 Cornish Rock Cross broilers to
Bloomfield, IA, to be butchered last week. They are all tucked nicely
in the freezers now (except for the ones we sampled)! If any of you
are interested in purchasing some of them, let us know. We still have
a few that haven't been spoken for.
Amidst all the farming, we took the day off Saturday, July 2nd, to
congratulate our son, Daniel, on his completion of high school. We had
a yard full of friends and family here to enjoy some delicious chicken
that our son-in-law grilled. Daniel took many for a hay ride to the
fields to see all the beautiful crops before we harvest them in a
couple weeks. Then, we enjoyed a large display of fireworks. We
certainly are thankful for all the work Daniel does to keep the farm
going. The Lord has blessed us immensely through our six children.
Now, we must get back to work. We are planning to be at the Des Moines
Farmer's Market on Saturday, July 9th. If any of you are needing our
products, give us a call or email us. Or, you can just show up at the
market. We haven't officially received notice of where our booth will
be this time, but you can contact us Friday and we should have it by
then. Otherwise, you can ask once you arrive at the market and they
can tell you where we are.
Until next month,
Teresa
