Particular: A New Program for Preparation and Reconfiguration of Phylogenetic Data for Analysis
Phylogenetic Analysis is, superficially, a pipeline process. However, once a data alignment is complete, a series of iterative steps needs to be performed before a conclusion can be reached. These steps may include excluding taxa, partitioning, determining evolutionary models for each partition, and the actual analysis using other programs, such as GARLI and MrBayes.
Particular aims to facilitate this process. It provides GUI tools to partition and reconfigure the data set, and to generate the configuration and command files for the analysis step. Most importantly, Particular implements quick iteration from the analysis step back to the reconfiguration and cleanup steps, to improve or experiment with results.
