On behalf of the Parrot team, I'm proud to announce Parrot 1.0.0
"Haru Tatsu." Parrot[1] is a virtual machine aimed at running all
dynamic languages.
Parrot 1.0.0 is available on Parrot's FTP site[2], or follow the
download instructions[3]. For those who would like to develop on Parrot,
or help develop Parrot itself, we recommend using Subversion[4] on our
source code repository[5] to get the latest and best Parrot code.

ParrotThread, ParrotRunningThread, Rational, FixedPMCArray,
ResizablePMCArray, and GDBMHash PMCs now use declared attributes
(ATTR), in place of the deprecated UnionVal.

Looking forward to the public announcements and press releases.
While for some of this release might be just another
monthly release the fact that it is called 1.0 will make a huge
difference in how people see the project.

Parrot 1.0.0 is now available through macports; you may have to
selfupdate to get the latest ports listing.
Thanks to jdfrens and dluke via macports for their help in getting the
installed binaries pointing at the right paths, and to macsforever2000
for the quick turnaround time once we had a working port.
