Subject: Intensive Catalog Change
The intensive catalog has a mistake.  I am not offering Mt. Biking, I
am offering a Marine Science program:
Marine Science: Kachemak Bay
Students in this intensive will investigate the potential listing of
Cook Inlet Belugas under the Endangered Species Act.  They will
explore the marine ecosystem in Kachemak Bay (near Homer).  Students
study the interdependence, diversity and develop population estimates
of marine life including vertebrates, invertebrates, algae, plants.
Activities include an afternoon with environmental scientist, a day of
oceanography on board a science vessel, two nights and days of high
school programs at the Center for Coastal Studies.  Participants will
be hiking, camping and sleeping on floors in semi-rugged and rugged
environments, appropriate clothing will be required.  This intensive
will include travel Sunday the 26th to Wednesday the 29th.

Fee: $310
Teacher:                Kathryn
Grades:         8-12
Polaris Credit Type:            Life Science Elective
ASD Name and number:            9-12th:  Marine Science, 230500
                                8th : JH Life Science, 203991

Please pass on this news to anyone you know who may be affected!
Thanks,
Kathryn
