Does anyone have this resource -  “Centering on the Spirit-A Resource for Setting Up a Spirituality Center (PDS # 70-250-02-107)   It's long out of print and I was contacted by someone in Chicago looking for it..... Jeannie Hickman jhickm...@comcast.net

Leslee,

Don't have it here on Long Island; would the info at the link below be a helpful alternative?

Regarding Spirituality Centers, I've set up centers regularly for Advent and Lent at North Presbyterian Church, Williamsville, NY where I am the Artist in Residence.  The stations are located in the Narthex, a portion of the Chapel and the fellowship hall. I use liturgical colored fabric to set off the space and plants. Most are reflection stations and a few are sit down.  I'd be glad to answer questions.

Dear Resource Center friends:

I received the following question this week:  “I have parents asking for recommendations for books to use to talk with their children (second and third graders) about puberty and sexuality. I know of a pretty good secular resource but they are wanting a faith based one. Any ideas??”

I have the out of print PCUSA sexuality curriculum and a book published in 1999 by Abingdon entitled “Before They Ask.”  Anyone know of anything newer?

Thank you.

Peace,

When I went looking for human sexuality curriculum awhile back, I got a lot of good reviews of a curriculum that the UCC did called “Our Whole Lives”.  They have a component for K-1st grade that comes with a parent guide and there is another component called “Sexuality and our Faith”. This isn’t a book resource per se, but could be helpful for parents as they consider how to talk to their younger children about this.  (I believe I got this material writing the UCC directly…it’s less clear to me whether individuals could get it without attending the training.)

Hi All!

I purchased a series from NavPress a year or 2 ago. It is titled "God's Design for Sex" and was published in 2007. It offers 4 ages groups, 3-5, 5-8, 8-11, and 11-14 and a book/leader's guide. My coworker used it and liked it.
