Just a reminder – our guild meeting is this Sunday!
We still have openings for Doreen Kassel’s class on Sunday, March 18th. Please see our web site for details: http://www.papcg.org/upcoming-master-classes.html .
We have two great demos/presentations for our Guild meeting Saturday, February 19th.
10:30 AM – Jenn Dorion will reprise the demo she did at Clay-a-thon – which drew applause. Samples of her work is attached. We all wanted to see this demo to find out how Jenn created those glistening clear gems she has.
If you would like to follow the demo:
Materials list: Black or white Clay
Kato translucent liquid clay (aka Kato sauce)
Foils (Jenn likes Jones Tones)
Alcohol inks
(Jenn will have some foil and Kato liquid available for purchase if you can’t find it).
Tools: Heat gun (preferred heat gun brand is Marvy -- available at Michaels)
Decorative paper punches (optional)
1:30 PM – Molly DiBianca will talk about adding that extra gloss to your pieces – a review of the many products that are on the market. Specifically:
--an overview of the different types of resins and the types of applications each is suited for; --brands and pricing within the different types; --pros and cons for the different brands.
Then, onto usage--specifically, the tips and tricks you should know to avoid common reasons for "resin-avoidance disorder," such as air bubbles, uncured resin, etc.
Finally, some ways to expand the ways to use resin. For example:
--how to add color to resin;
--other tools I use when using resin for "cold enamel" or "faux cloisonné" techniques; and --a very quick nod to mold making.
