I'm pleased to announce the release of pandoc 1.9!

Release notes: http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/releases.html
Source: http://hackage.haskell.org/package/pandoc-1.9
Binary installers: http://code.google.com/p/pandoc/downloads/list

New features include writers for docx, beamer, dzslides, and asciidoc,
improved code highlighting support, more robust LaTeX parsing, better
citation support, more flexibility in creating EPUBs, support for math
in reST, more consistent treatment of dashes in --smart mode, and
support for making HTML documents "self-contained." markdown2pdf has
been removed, and PDF production via latex has been incorporated into
pandoc itself.

This is the first release in six months, so there are a lot of
changes, including some breaking API changes. Users are advised to
read the release notes.

Thanks to Andrea Rossato, B. Scott Michel, Antoine Latter,
Masayoshi Takahashi, Ralf Stephan for contributing patches, and
thanks to everyone who contributed bug reports on the github issue
tracker or suggestions on the pandoc-discuss mailing list.
