Hi, is just that i was reading the source code of the file in the kernel: board-omap4panda.c and i wonder if the kernel used for pandaboard with omap4430 is the same for the pandaboard-es with omap4460, also i wonder if the sources of Android ICS are the same for both versions of Pandaboard, if someone could help me it would be great, thanks in advanced.

Best Regards.

You can have same ICS for both.

Is it just general question or you are trying something that brings the question in your mind?

Just trying to get details to help you better.

Hi, thank you very much for the answer, is just that i built Android ICS for Pandaboard Rev. A4, but now i am going to use Pandaboard ES, and i wanted to know if the performance is better, or the same, or lower, in the new Pandaboard, or if there is something to change in the kernel for better performance.

Best Regards.

Panda ES has OMAP 4460 and your earlier panda was based on 4430.

Below is description of core logic for both of them. There is performance improvement in core logic.

This is in terms of the hardware improvement.

Would you feel difference for your normal use? You can try and let me know!

If you run some software benchmarks then I believe the numbers will show performance improvement.

Can your eyes catch that improvement?

It really depends on what you are trying to use the boards for and what kind of applications/ end use you intent to run on the board.

Depending on that we can look at  tuning.
